2005/05 Tarzan

In 2005, the legend of Tarzan returned to the screen—not in theaters, but as a lesser-known animated film titled Tarzan II. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and released direct-to-video, it served as a midquel to Disney’s 1999 hit Tarzan. Directed by Brian Smith, the film explored young Tarzan’s journey of self-discovery after he runs away from his jungle family. Unlike its predecessor, Tarzan II didn’t reach critical acclaim. Though the animation was colorful and the voice cast included Glenn Close and Lance Henriksen, the story lacked the emotional depth and groundbreaking animation of the original.
