In
the
early
2000s,
Dutch
television
was
ready
for
something
fresh—something
that
brought
kids
and
pop
music
together
like
never
before.
That
dream
became
reality
in
2003,
when
the
Kids
Top
20
first
aired
on
Jetix,
quickly
becoming
a
national
hit.
The
idea
was
simple
but
powerful:
a
weekly
music
chart
show
where
kids,
not
adults,
got
to
vote
for
their
favorite
songs.
Unlike
traditional
music
shows,
Kids
Top
20
focused
entirely
on
young
audiences,
featuring
child-friendly
hits,
dancing,
celebrity
guests,
and
lots
of
glitter
and
fun.
Created
by
Tanja
Jess
and
produced
by
Z@pp,
the
show
was
energetic,
interactive,
and
full
of
positive
vibes.
Over
the
years,
it
aired
on
various
networks
like
TROS,
AVROTROS,
and
Zappelin
Extra,
and
featured
hosts
such
as
Monique
Smit,
Stephanie
Tency,
and
Buddy
Vedder.
