Hercules is a 1997 animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the 35th film in the Disney Animated Canon and is loosely based on the legendary hero Heracles from Greek mythology, known in Roman mythology as Hercules. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the film features a distinctive animation style inspired by Greek art and the work of British cartoonist Gerald Scarfe, who also served as the film's production designer.
